Picture Polish Chillax

Hello all!  I have a swatch of Picture Polish Chillax today, a beautiful blue-green creme.

I wore this on its own for the first week back at uni, and I absolutely loved it; it's opaque in two coats and the wear time was great.  A+, Picture Polish!

Green Shimmery Leopard

Hello all!  I shared my swatch of Ninja Polish Shillelagh a few posts ago; this is what my finished manicure looked like.  I stamped using Moyou London Pro Plate XL 04.  I wanted to try a leopard print in non-traditional colours for the first time...a lot of people actually thought it was a turtle shell print.

For the stamping, I used Konad Special Polish in black for some nails and a Born Pretty Store black stamping polish for others.  Personally I liked the Born Pretty polish better, I felt that it had a cleaner look to it (I got some smearing when I stamped with the Konad) - however I prefer the white Konad polish to the white Born Pretty polish.

I really love how this manicure turned out!  It was a nice dip of my toes into the pool of animal print.

Note to self - tape your fingers when you're stamping with black polish!  (I learnt this a little too late for my left hand, but it made everything so much cleaner for my right).

Purple to Pink Gradient and China Glaze Fairy Dust

I've seen heaps of other bloggers with sparkly gradients using China Glaze Fairy Dust, but have never tried it myself - I'm glad I did because it really adds that extra something to your mani!  I also like it because then I only need one coat of top coat, as I usually need two coats in order to smooth out a gradient.

I started with one coat of OPI Do You Lilac It? which is a really beautiful polish; I understand that it's one of OPI's staple polishes, and I definitely recommend it!

I then used OPI Shorts Story (pink creme), OPI Live. Love. Carnaval. (bright coral creme) as well as a bit more of Do You Lilac It? for the gradient.  I finished with a coat of China Glaze Fairy Dust, then top coated.

I love how this manicure turned out, it was so soft, pretty and sparkly!  Live. Love. Carnaval. looks really beautiful, so I can't wait to wear that one again.

Raindrops in the Cosmos

Hello all!  I had a hankering for some stamping so I broke out my Moyou Fairytale plate 02 and Picture Polish Cosmos.

I started with two coats of Cosmos, a beautiful deep blue glass fleck polish that is absolutely beautiful!  I used Essie Blue Rhapsody for the stamping.

I love how this turned out, and Cosmos is especially amazing in the sunshine!

Ninja Polish Shillelagh

Hello all!  Ninja Polish Shillelagh has been hanging around my stash for a while, but I only recently got around to using it on myself (I gave one of my little cousins a manicure with this polish earlier this year).

Shillelagh is a green shimmer with flashes of gold.  I would almost say it's a duochrome.  In these photos, I'm wearing two coats, but I'd probably go for three if I was wearing it alone (I topped it off with some stamping this time!)

It's a very beautiful polish, I definitely take my hat off to Ninja Polish.

Pastel Cling Wrap Manicure feat. Rescue Beauty Lounge and Nfu Oh jellies

Hello all!  I was recently inspired by Phoenix Beauty Lounge to create a watercolour-effect cling wrap manicure using jelly polishes.  I really like how it turned out - the jellies ensure that you get a very soft, blended look.

For this manicure, I started with two coats of Sation Strumming My Nails (white creme) and then used Rescue Beauty Lounge Fire Queen, Nfu Oh JS12 and Nfu Oh JS15 for the cling wrap stage.  Finally, I added one coat of top coat for that perfect finish!

As always, the cling wrap method is very angst-free and easy to achieve; this look could be recreated in a variety of different colours as well.

If you're looking for an understated, easy manicure, I'd definitely recommend trying this one out!

Gloss 'n Sparkle Bad Anon

Hello all!  The polish I'm showing you today is from August 2013 What's In-Die Box? - it's Gloss 'n Sparkle Bad Anon, inspired by the 'bad guy' support group in Wreck It Ralph.

Bad Anon has a black jelly base and blue, red, holo and silver glitter in hex, square and micro shapes.  There are probably more colours in there; it's so complex!

I'm wearing two coats of Bad Anon over A England Camelot (black creme), as the jelly base is quite sheer and I wasn't in the mood for any visible nail line.  Great formula, I didn't have to dig for the glitter at all, and the finished effect is more understated than a glitterbomb but still beautifully sparkly!

Ozotic 621

Hello all!  I have a swatch of Ozotic 621 today - it's an absolutely beautiful sparkly red glass fleck polish.

It goes on in two perfect coats and truly comes to life in the sun!  Sadly Ozotics are discontinued, but I believe that Picture Polish has brought 621 back under another name.

Black and White Water Marble

Hello all!  More water marbling for you today, and this is probably my favourite out of all the combinations I've tried.  Not only is the black and white look very striking, but I'm so pleased with how the pattern turned out!

I began with two coats of Sation Strumming My Nails, a perfect white creme.  I used A England Camelot (black) and OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls (white) for the marble itself.  Both polishes worked very well for me, especially the OPI since it has a thinner formula.

As you can possibly see, I dipped all four fingers into the water at once because I find that this method works well for me (and I'm too lazy to do a whole new marble for each finger).  I left my thumb with just A England Camelot.

I originally planned to add some glitter to the black sections of the nails, but after consultation with my brother ("It's busy enough already!"), I'm glad I left them plain!

June Haul

Hello all!  I haven't bought polish for a few months, so after exams I decided to go ahead and do a few big orders.

I nabbed some China Glaze and OPI from Phoenix Beauty Lounge.  They offer a great discount if you buy certain numbers of polish, which was awesome!  I was so happy I could find China Glaze I'm Not Lion and OPI Pirouette My Whistle, which I've been wanting for ages.

Left to right: China Glaze Purr-Fect Plum & I'm Not Lion; OPI Live. Love. Carnaval., Shorts Story, Do You Lilac It? & Pirouette My Whistle

I also did a big order from Llarowe, and picked up some polish that I've been longing for.
